About Us

We Are ONE!

Hickman PTSA welcomes all parents, students, staff, and community members to join PTSA to support Hickman High School as a whole.  Our Hickman High School Parent Teacher Student Association exists to support and advocate for all Kewpies!

What We Do

PTSA is involved in nearly all aspects of Kewpie life. Here are just some of the ways we support our community.

Communication

The volume of information shared with parents and students can feel overwhelming. We work with Hickman to get out information that parents need and want. Join our Facebook page and come to monthly meetings in person or via Zoom to stay up to date.

Advocacy

On issues such as class size, teacher autonomy, grading practices, students' rights, parent involvement. Let us know how we can advocate for you.

Appreciation & Support

Monthly teacher appreciation lunches, drawings, cards, and gifts are just a few ways we show staff how much we appreciate all they do for Kewpie Nation!

Fundraising

Concessions - Our #1 fundraiser

Barnes & Noble -  Each December for holiday shopping

Restaurants - Watch for these throughout the year

Diversity Gear - Exclusively selling our diversity Kewpie-themed apparel and accessories

Some ways that our fundraising supports the Hickman High School community:

 • showing appreciation to teachers/staff

  • recognizing students for achievement

 • funding curriculum enhancements

 • building improvements

 • Hickman Review

How You Can Help

Everyone is busy.  Between jobs, meetings, doctor appointments, 3 kids in 10 activities, and a multi-generational household, you may be thinking that you just can't add one more thing to your plate. WE GET IT!

We truly appreciate you, no matter how much you can offer.

One of the easiest ways you can help is to watch for our sign-ups for Teacher Appreciation lunches. Just dropping off a 12-pack of drinks is helpful. Have time to bake a pie?  We will take it!

Other ways to be involved:

 • Volunteer in concessions

 • Card writing

 • Solicit donations

 • Attend a fundraiser

 • Chair a committee

 • Give us feedback

 • Keep an eye out for sign-ups!

Ready to greet students, teachers, and staff outside Hickman on August 22: some heartfelt chalked messages of encouragement.

CoMo SEPTA (Special Education PTA) organized this effort district-wide and Hickman parents grabbed sidewalk chalk to "Chalk the Walk" at HHS.
